In January 2012 Statebourne were awarded the Tender to equip the Danish National Biobank at the Statens Serums Institute. The Tender requirements were for the installation of fully automated liquid nitrogen refrigerators to store 2 million 1.4ml samples. The new refrigerators would be incorporated within an overall system which also included 7 existing older LN2 storage units and the combined system was to be supplied by a bulkliquid nitrogen tank sited externally and remotely (70 metres from the Cryo-room).

Vindon Scientific Ltd run a state of the art off site Cryogenic storage facility for the storage of biological samples, stem cells, bacterial cultures and human tissue. Vindon’s Cryobank is designed to be the latest specification, with a large external supply tank, fully insulated pipeline, automatic cryogenic refrigerators and the latest data logging and alarm system to keep all samples safe and secure. All samples are stored to MHRA standards.
