The Biosystem 12, 24 and 50 models are designed to provide frequent-access users with rapid specimen storage and retrieval. Access Biosystem units are for storage in wide neck dewars for easy access. Arctic Biosystems units are designed for ultra cold vapour phase storage in ‘Dry’ chamber. Every Biosystem Access series container can be configured for either liquid (-196°C), or Vapour phase storage.
Biosystem Access & Arctic Series
Biosystem Access series – These units can be run in liquid or vapour phase and come complete with processor, level sensor and temperature probe. All units are fitted with twin fill valves for extra security.
Biosystem Arctic series – These units are similar to the Biosystem Access units
. However, they are fitted with a copper lining and extra tall plinth, so can only be run in vapour phase. The plinth keeps samples above the LN2 and the copper lining reduces the storage temperature to -190 C. So all samples are stored in an extra cold ‘dry’ chamber.

The Biosystem Archive 21, 40, 80 and 100 models are designed to maximise economic operation with highest capacity sample storage for the lowest possible consumption of LN2 for bulk storage of samples up to 98,000. Every Biosystem Archive-Series refrigerator incorporates the ‘Vapour Guard’ which guarantees that liquid can never come into contact with samples.
Biosystem Archive Series
A liquid proof rotating internal container allows liquid levels to be controlled safely within the annular space between the drum and container wall generating near isothermal temperature mapping throughout the storage space. The container is easily turned so that every part of the storage system is accessible at the neck opening.
The microprocessor control system provides full control and security backup with the highest available level of reliability and sensor accuracy.
The Archive Series offers the best combination of trouble-free sample security and economic operation together with excellent isothermal properties. In vapour phase storage, temperature throughout the Archive refrigerator.
